A starry wool rug.   I love the star theme!

Jessica & Cort's wedding rug made to go with a quilt made by the bride's mom, Debi.

This rug was inspired by an antique Fraternal Order of Eagles coffin cloth.   That piece was in very subdued colors with rich silk embroidery of the images I used in the rug:  moths, acorns, mushrooms, oak leaves and flowers.   I started hooking the design in a rug class with Andrea Rhinelander and she suggested the purple background and insisted that I aim for more realism in my subject matter.   Thank you, Andrea!   It's a much more successful piece thanks to her advice. 2010

I'm new to rug hooking, but what a great art form!   This rug is hooked from strips of felted sweaters and is very lush.
