Fifties Fabric was inspired by a book with pictures of fabrics made in the 1950s, a wonderful source for designs!

Bev's Dragonflies

This is the largest quilt I've ever made, 110 inches square.   This is photographed on my garage and it's dragging on the ground, but this image will do until I can get it done more professionally.   I used cotton sateen as the backing and Harriet Hargraves Tuscany cotton batt made by Hobb's and it's very soft and cozy.  It's made in four parts.

Wind Song
This quilt was part of the Running in Circles exhibit.  It celebrates wind power.

Cut Flowers
This is my entry in the 2009 IQA Celebrate Spring show.   It was inspired by fabric that is used in the flower backgrounds.   I'd painted and stamped it and then over dyed it by using it as a wipe up cloth. The quilt is free cut pieced.

Carrots in Concert with the Universe

This piece was inspired by a beautiful picture in Martha Stewart Living.

Dresden Remix

People know I'm a quilt maker, so I'm often given gifts of fabric.   I have an affinity for orphaned  blocks and after seeing the work of Sue Spargo, I got the idea that I could turn these Dresden Plate units into appliqued flowers.

Road to Paris

I am really happy with this quilt.   I had seen the picture of this pattern in a Better Homes and Garden book and loved it, but didn't  want to piece it in the suggested way.   Instead I discovered I could free cut piece patterns like this and was able to piece a block in 15 minutes!!!   Those are little triangles.

9 patch variation

People ask me how I made this and I think I remember.  I started with 9 patches, cut them apart and inserted strips and then switched the outer pieces of the 9 patches, I think.   The fabrics that really sparkle in this quilt are Cyn Geist's hand dyes.

Scrap Quilt

I find it very satisfying to make scrap quilts.  I sew a lot of scraps together and then cut out squares.  I make a lot of charity quilts this way.  This is a large quilt; the squares are 4".

This is a quilt I made for my granddaughter, Princess Kate.

And this is my grand daughter, Princess Lena.

Licorice Allsorts

Spiderwort
Although the image is large, this is a little flower study, maybe 12" square.
